OUR LATEST ACTIVITIES
Roughly 50 young mothers have just completed computer literacy and business skills training, and their graduation is scheduled for 13 June 2015. Computer lessons taught them the fundamentals of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher and Access, along with Internet, email and typing speed. The business curriculum provided these young mothers with the basics of entrepreneurship and the process of starting and managing small, group enterprises. In the end, five group enterprises were formed and business plans written with the hopes of establishing restaurant, tailoring, soap-making and rug-making businesses. Additionally, one group prepared their CV and cover letter aiming to gain employment, mostly in the secretarial and administrative fields. Finally, a new Hisa group was formed, with the goal of economically empowering this batch of young mothers via a financial saving and loaning mechanism.
